At The Mountains Of Madness is a sequel of sorts to Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Narrative Of Arthur Gordon Pym' (and so is a sibling to Jules Verne's 'The Sphinx Of The Ice Fields?'), and has its own pseudosequel in the shape of 'A Colder War' by Charlie Stross.
