This sequence, along with The Earthsea Trilogy, is one of the things that makes me so furious at the current popularity of Harry Potter. JK Rowling can't hold a candle to Susan Cooper. -- TA Point taken. The Dark Is Rising isn't trying so hard to be kids' fiction, and as such makes for excellently adult Alt Fic/SF by the end of the sequence. This page should probably be called either The Dark Is Rising Sequence? or The The Dark Is Rising Sequence? (After all, we'd say The Foundation Saga?, when the first book is called 'Foundation').
