Some guy allegedly nailed to a tree nearly 2,000 years ago. A lot of people believe he was the son of god, a lot of people don't. Some of these people give enough of a damn about it to try and forcefully correct the others, with violence.
A lot of those who do believe it also violently disagree with each other about their interpretations of what he may or may not have said. This is not generally true of those who do not believe it in the first place, although they obviously do violently disagree with each other about other issues.
Categories for heroes/villains of speculative fiction, perhaps?
