Lawrence Bloody Miles

The daemon/gremlin of BBC Books' Doctor Who output.

Actually, the man is quite a good conceptualiser. Like Terry Nation before him, LBM can, when he's not having an off-day, dream up some fantastic concepts: The whole visual 'look' of Faction Paradox, which would really suit a graphic novel, the idea of a giant space weapon set in sub-light motion millions of years ago and gradually drifting towards its target whilst a civilisation grows up on the side of it, not to mention sentient, humanoid Tardises. It's just a pity that, once he's come up with a good idea, he doesn't have a clue what to do with it story-wise. Whilst a non-linear timeline isn't always a bad thing, Mr Miles seems to fly in ever decreasing circles until eventually he disappears up his own Paradox. --WJR
