New College Lane

A lane which winds round the back of New College. Gosh, such unexpected things you do learn on this Wiki, eh? It's the lane which flows under the Bridge Of Sighs between the two halves of Hertford College on Catte Street, and a lane into which Inspector Morse was once observed to drive his Jag at top speed. Ouch. No wonder the man's dead. This lane then becomes known as Queens Lane and wends its way past the back of Queens College and by Teddy Hall College before emerging on to High Street.

It is one of William Ramsden's favourite 'quiet' parts of the city centre, surprisingly, given that it was also his chosen route to and from Examination Schools
