Close up of roof box. This lined up with the horizon and the floor of the tomb chamber (the passageway having risen about 2 metres in height.) The 2 days before, day and 2 days after the winter solstice, the sun can shine through the roof box illuminating the passageway with the only direct sunlight it ever gets... unless it's cloudy. |
