== _"The mice were furious."_ [http://users.ox.ac.uk/~whosoc/face.jpg] ===== Thanks be to Tim Adye for the original of the above picture. Hail, fellow WikiZen__s, William Ramsden here, former ArtsStudent, Whovian and would-be writer, friend of TheaLogie and entity somewhat bewildered by much of modern technology. I am currently editor of the DocSoc magazine, TidesOfTime- new issue available RealSoonNow, and have served as President of the DocSoc (Trinity 02), Vice-President of the same (Michaelmas-Hilary 02/03), OUSFGVideoRep and OUSFGNewsletterEditor (Trinity-Hilary 02/03), and BabSoc WebGod (Trinity-Hilary 01/02). By now, I'm a disturbingly longstanding member of OUSFG and DocSoc. For those OUSFGi who don't know me, I'll be the one sitting under the all- terrain eyebrows looking perplexed by AlxOne's jokes and losing focus when discussions get too techy. When the conversation gets _too_ disturbing, there's a fifty-percent chance that I'll be the one to invoke the tumbleweed _(a mysterious life form, frequently sighted by WJR and TL at OUSFG meetings, the strange truth of the tumbleweed was finally revealed in the cataclysmic saga of ZoolV..)_ Probably capable of being both naively idealistic and brutally cynical (sometimes in the space of the same syllable), I define my approach to the rest of the human race as 'Human: good, humanity: bad, politician: ugly'. I do, however, contribute to ZoolV, which probably doesn't say too much for my own sanity. I like to stress the word *society* in the DoctorWho Society (DocSoc), and the word *group* in Oxford University Speculative Fiction Group, because I don't like the idea of either being about sitting in darkened rooms watching videos with not a word to either side. I live at The House at ArlingtonDrive, with three humans and three Great Old Ones (Gerbils), making me a member of Gerbil Soc. I'm a fan of the Wiki, since it allows the sheer *silly* side of OUSFG to come to the fore, and that can only be a good thing. I've collected one or two _noms de clavier_ over the years, including DangerMouse (not to be confused with PINATA), TheFlyingGoldfishOfDoom, TheOtherKitten, and most recently Lukas Quillier (thanks offered to TheaLogie for that one). A selection of my pet hates (and several other people's) may be found in the Wiki's own Room 101: = TheInferno. And of course, on the flip side of such bile, let us now unleash the unashamed daydreaming of the: == SuperPowerWishList As a slight spin-off from the above, how about the: == WantedParanormalPetList? I'm a former St John's French and Philosophy student, which prepares you for life in a real world. Not this one though. Still, I've picked up from Real Life and from the big and small screens, and made up a few handy pieces of advice, now moved, on TheaLogie's recommendation, to a separate page for: == AdviceOfWilliamRamsden TL and I have also compiled a few OUSFGishTShirtSlogans, which are linked from the OUSFG pages, but that's no reason why they shouldn't be mentioned here as well, in the interests of weaving further strands of Wiki. The same goes for BlankWhiteCardSuggestions. The Subconscious is a wild and wacky place, which frequently unleashes: == DisturbingDreams I fear that the discussions over UniversallyImprovingIngredient__s may soon lead to the sort of conflict which will require UN intervention- if GWB hasn't blown the UN up by then. = Here are some nice links for you: - *Reality Errors* at http://www.geocities.com/wjramsden which will lead wary or unwary travellers to my webpage. - http://www.geocities.com/wjramsden/punt A part of *Reality Errors*, but probably the part of the greatest interest to OUSFG, being a selection of scanned in photographs from the 2002 Punt Party. - DoctorWho Self explanatory. I'm quite a great fan of DoctorWho, and BritishTVSF in general- with one or two notable exceptions. - I also count as a BabylonFive fan. - http://www.ousfg.net which, given that it is the word 'OUSFG', is also self-explanatory. It actually points to the real webby at the moment, which has a horrible evil URL of Terror, from which URL you can again reach the OUSFG Wiki. Of course, following a link from here (on the Wiki) to OUSFG purely in order to follow a link to the Wiki would not only be insane, but also RecursiveOcclusion. I think this after having just firmly squashed the thought (whilst editing this page): _Oh, I've got some links up there. Perhaps I ought to have a link to the Wiki._ (Perhaps it would make more sense, eventually, to bung a link to the Wiki portal page on your own website --TL) - SluggyFreelance. An Online Comic (see OnlineComicIndex) - I rule the Kingdom of Montmirail here: For any more in-depth (or at least, more drawn-out) information on me, you should probably consult the 'about me' page of my website. For more random and amusing slices of lightly roasted internet marinaded in its own juices, see TheaLogie's scrapbook. William James Ramsden Be seeing you. CategoryOUSFGMember | CategoryWikizen
