static-album.pl is now mostly there, but it doesn't yet track what local URLs it spits out (to ensure that their static versions are made)
range.pl is part way towards having a working static version, with most of the code subroutined off.
everything else once again compiles and runs clean, doing most of their error reporting and outputting using the "correct" methods
