• OpenGuides is a heavily customised version of CGI::Wiki:
  • Specific metadata: address, postcode, telephone, lat/long, URL, et cetera. (example)
  • The usual Wiki Way editing method - creation and maintenance of pages is familiar.
  • Proper categorisation, unlike the kludgy hack on vanilla wikis and its associated use/mention problem.
  • RDF output for Semantic Web-type things (example) or piping into other apps, like mapservers (example)
  • Distance calculation: "Show me all things in range '1km'." (example)
  • Map drawing, hopefully (geodata helps).
