Step One: Steal Underpants UseModWiki

• We used UseMod for "Grubstreet", our original London wiki.
• It was good and bad.

  Upside:

  One script, 30-second installation. Nice.

  Downsides:

  4,000 lines of dense spaghetti code that hacking on makes your skull glow white-hot.

  Weird recurring problem with file locking.

  Basic wiki functionality wasn't enough for our requirements.

• So we wrote our own.
