From an interview with Ron De__Pinho on BioMedNet (13/7/2003): "Equally important is the ability to look at a complex question and have the courage to attack that question, as opposed to the next detail or the next obvious experiment. Rather ask about very fundamental questions in biology and then do what it takes to answer the question. And if that means getting into a new model system then do it. The question always drives the science, not technology. Technology changes. You need to say this is the question that I am really interested in, I am going to use models and technologies to really attack that problem. "And I think it takes a really high level of commitment. It really requires significant focus and sacrifice, and years of training to be able to do it well. But I think it is the best job in the world." CategoryBiology
