FM: Frequency Modulation. A radio system introduced as a more modern equivalent to Long Wave and Medium Wave (which are AM). FM provides the option of Stereo sound (where transmitted) and generally increased audio quality. On the other hand, there are still areas of the country where FM reception is not perfect, and for a long time it was non-existent in some areas. Probably the Digital of its day.
Is it not possible to do stereo with AM? Perhaps it was never done, but i don't think it's a technical limitation. i dunno what mr maskill would say about this.
No but it would probably suck a lot more bandwidth than FM, as you'd have to allow for all the harmonics. And it could make tuners a nightmare as you'd have to tune two LC? circuits. [LR]
And what's this with the Double Spaces After Full Stops?
