'Fahrenheit 451' is a novel by Ray Bradbury, about a future dystopia where books are banned.
It was translated into Russian and distibuted in the USSR, a society renowned for its open-minded and liberal attitude towards subversive literature.
The name allegedly comes from the fact that paper burns at 451 degrees Fahrenheit (about 232 C), although this is a heinous lie. Paper comes in many forms, and the flash point varies between types. In actuality, Ray Bradbury just thought it sounded like a good number. The European translations were, it seems, not called 'Celsius 232'.
