Free BSD is a free, Open Source unix operating system.
It's faster, more stable, more secure and more mature than Lin Ux. It isn't, however, as trendy. It also may not have as good a graphical desktop (anyone know if GNOME and KDE? run on Free BSD?). Free BSD is also feted for its easy installation process.
