Straight Fiction

Apart from everything that's not Lesbian Gay And Bisexual Fiction, what does 'Straight Fiction' really mean? Does it mean 'Mimetic Fiction' (ie not Speculative Fiction), or does it mean 'Mainstream Fiction' (which may have speculative elements)? Where does Alternative Fiction fit in? A bit of googling indicates that roughly half the uses are in the sexually straight sense, and roughly half are derogatory comments by SF fans.

I suggest we avoid this term entirely. It's too imprecise to be of any use. -- TA Agreed --TL
