I suggest freethepostcode.org continues to be hosted and active by someone
given when someone
types a postcode into search box on
https://www.openstreetmap.org
It first brings up the result from NPEMap / FreeThe Postcode
Then results displayed from OpenStreetMap Nominatim often brings up other
streets first especially if one in question does not have postcode as tag on
it, as is often the case.
OSM does not bring up a result from CodePoint Open as I hoped OSM would have
added to that search by now..
I still put my own post code into Free The Postcode because of this to help
users find my street via the postcode if using that search box (even though I
send people a link centred on my street people are used to using postcodes in
search boxes.
If freethepostcode.org does not work out being hosted by Open Street Map
(servers / foundation ownership?), I will have it.
Maybe the API could serve Code Point Open (as fall back as well) if license
allow.
Regards,
Micah B
