xmonad contrib

For the last week or so I've refrained from upgrading xmonad on my Sid boxes because there is no xmonad-contrib 0.8. Is holding off on the upgrade the right thing to do if I want to avoid a dysfunctional WM? I know DDs are very busy but I seem to remember the situation being the same when 0.7 came out, xmonad and libghc6-xmonad-dev where released in version 0.7 several days (weeks?) before libghc6-xmonad-contrib-dev.
